Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A speeding private car caused a major accident on Wednesday morning in the Mogalmari Bus Stand area under Dantan police station limits of Paschim Medinipur. According to local sources, the car was travelling from Kharagpur towards Odisha when it suddenly lost control, broke through a highway barricade, and collided with several vehicles including a parked bicycle, a motorbike, and a toto. The vehicle then crashed into a nearby fruit stall, damaging multiple roadside shops.
At least seven people were injured in the incident, with three reported to be in serious condition. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses stated that the car was moving at a very high speed at the time of the crash. The sudden impact and destruction caused panic among people present at the site, and locals gathered in large numbers shortly after the accident.
The car involved in the accident had a board on its front that read “CPDR WEST BENGAL,” which has drawn attention and led to local speculation. Police have started an investigation to determine the ownership of the car and the identity of the driver. Officials are also verifying the authenticity and relevance of the “CPDR” tag displayed on the vehicle.
